Part of the Problem

You know what happens when you use iron nails to hold a copper pipe in place?

Aside from looking rather ugly, it causes a chemical reaction that rapidly degrades the copper. A ten or twenty year old pipe ends up springing leaks like mad, and needs to be replaced, as there just isn't enough good copper left for the pipe to be worth repairing.

Don't you just LOVE dealing with the messes left behind by your home's previous owner?
